Having lived in Florida for most of my life, golf carts are part of the background. They are all over the place. Historically, they have largely been powered by lead-acid batteries, but there are also loud, smelly, polluting ones. However, now, you can get lithium batteries for golf carts!
In fact, we’ve got news on a 48V golf cart battery using LiFePO4 cells that is available at a deep sale price at the moment. The Vatrer* uses EVE’s grade A prismatic LiFePO4 cells, for an energy storage capacity of 5.37 kWh. So, performance should be high and lifespan should be high. “With over 4000 cycles, this lithium battery outlasts the 300-500 cycles of lead-acid batteries, reducing replacement costs,” the company notes.
Being lithium-ion rather than lead-acid, it’s also relatively lightweight — about 50% lighter.
The battery can power a golf cart for up to 50 miles on a single charge — enough for a lot of golfing or a lot of cool driving around the neighborhood or country club. The battery includes “a 200A Battery Management System (BMS) for protection against overcharge, over-discharge, over-current, extreme temperatures, and short circuits.” It also includes metal casing for extra safety that is rated for IP67 protection, meaning its dustproof and waterproof (which might have been useful in the golf cart I almost drove into a golf course pond as a kid). It is completely maintenance free.
To cap it off, the battery has a new design that is supposed to be more modern and stylish. Perhaps you’ve noticed that already looking at the images above.

And here’s a video review if the battery if you want a closer look at the battery in the real world from a prolific battery and solar reviewer:
Overall, this is clearly an advanced, efficient, good battery to use if you need a new battery for your golf cart. You can learn more or buy one here.
