Tata Power Solarizes 230 Public Infrastructure Sites Across Maharashtra, Advancing State’s Green Energy Goals
In a significant move towards sustainable energy, Tata Power has successfully solarized over 230 critical public infrastructure sites across Maharashtra, contributing approximately 107 MW of clean energy capacity. This initiative encompasses the installation of solar power systems in 100 hospitals (3.6 MW), 64 schools (2 MW), and 72 government and institutional buildings (100 MW) across key districts in the state.
The solar installations are projected to offset 1.3 lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions, a reduction equivalent to planting 20 lakh trees. This substantial decrease in carbon footprint underscores Tata Power’s commitment to environmental sustainability and aligns with Maharashtra’s broader objectives to promote renewable energy sources.
By integrating solar energy into essential public services, Tata Power aims to reduce energy costs, enhance energy reliability, and support the state’s transition to cleaner energy. This initiative not only contributes to environmental conservation but also ensures uninterrupted power supply to critical facilities, thereby improving the quality of public services.
