BluVein appoints Roberto Marín Torres as Technology Application Manager for South America
BluVein, a leader in agnostic dynamic charging solutions for mining, has announced the appointment of Roberto Marín Torres as its Technology Application Manager for South America.
With over 18 years of experience in the mining and technology sectors, he brings a wealth of expertise to support the region’s miners in adopting BluVein’s groundbreaking electrification technologies, BluVein1 (underground) and BluVeinXL (surface), the company says.
His career is marked by a proven track record in driving innovation and sustainability in mining operations, BluVein says. A Mining and Industrial Engineer from Universidad de Santiago, Chile, he has held key leadership roles, including pushing forward decarbonisation initiatives at Glencore South America.
His extensive experience spans process improvement, technology strategy, and project management across open-pit and underground operations. He has also spearheaded international projects in countries such as Brazil, Chile, Peru, Australia, Canada and South Africa, collaborating with mining companies and suppliers to integrate autonomous systems, fleet electrification and smart mining solutions.
Based in South America, Marín Torres will play a pivotal role in helping miners in Chile, Peru, Brazil and beyond transition to cleaner, more efficient operations, BluVein claims.
