India achieved 1 Billion Tonne of Coal Production

India has achieved a significant milestone in coal production crossing an impressive 100 billion tonnes. This remarkable feat is attributed to the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and efficient methods, ensuring not only increased production but also sustainable and responsible mining practices.

The Ministry of Coal’s Year End Review-2024 reported that the all-India coal production in the year 2023-24 was 997.826 Million Tonnes (MT), showing a growth of about 11.71% compared to the previous year. This upward trend is expected to continue, with the Ministry of Coal setting a target to produce 1.31 billion tonnes in FY25 and 1.5 billion tonnes in FY30.

This achievement is crucial in fueling India’s increasing power demands, driving economic growth, and ensuring a brighter future for every Indian. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is on its path to becoming a global energy leader.
