Very large Gold reserves Discovered across18 locations in India

Gold reserves have been discovered in 18 locations across eight districts in Odisha, including Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundergarh, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Angul, and Boudh. The discovery was made by the Geological Survey of India (GSI) and the state’s geology department.

According to Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Mallick, the preliminary survey conducted by the Directorate of Geology and GSI has shown the presence of gold deposits at several places in these districts. Some of the specific locations where gold deposits have been found include:

– Keonjhar district: Telkoi, Saleikana, Gopur, Gajaipur, Singpur, Kusakala, Dimirimunda, and Aradangi
– Mayurbhanj district: Suleipata area, Suruda, Jashipur, Suriaguda, and other locations
– Other districts: Digajharan, Maladihi, Ghogar, and Giringakela in Sundargarh; Karaka in Nabarangpur; and several locations in Koraput, Malkangiri, Angul, and Boudh districts

While this discovery is exciting, it’s worth noting that smaller gold mines spread over vast areas may not be economically viable.
