XCMG Brazil has launched what it says is the first 100% electric water truck; developed to meet the highest technical standards for efficiency and operational safety. Two models, with a volumetric capacity of 25,000 and 50,000 litres, the latter styled ‘Titan,’ were presented to the Brazilian market at a joint launch event by XCMG and Impacto Implementos e Máquinas in Jaú, São Paulo. Since 2004, Impacto has been providing equipment for maintenance and services in various areas.
The new 100% electric water trucks are designed for water transportation, dust control, compaction, soil moistening and fire control, said Ricardo Senda, Electric Manager, during the product presentation event. Manufactured as off-road and on-road vehicles (based on the XDR80TE and E7-29R truck platforms), the two water trucks will serve the sugar and alcohol, agricultural, mining, construction, forestry and sanitation segments.
The main technology upsides of the 100% electric water trucks are a centrifugal pump with a flow rate of 1,000 litres per minute, a range of up to 50 m joystick control, an electronic control system developed to perform electropneumatic actuation of the spreaders, transverse and longitudinal wave breakers for greater stability, a rear spreader for soil moistening and dust control, plus rear and side spreaders for moistening, dust and flame control.
